Driving ban for former footballer, Kane Louis, who drove the wrong way
A FORMER professional footballer drove 10 miles the wrong way down a snow-bound dual carriageway because he was cold.
Kane Louis, 23, who played for Brighton as a teenager, was among thousands of drivers trapped in a blizzard in March.
But while some motorists – including singer Toyah Wilcox and rap duo Rizzle Kicks – were stranded for up to 12 hours he turned his Smart car round and headed back in the wrong direction along the hard shoulder.
When police stopped him and ordered him out of the car, he asked: “Do I have to get out? It’s cold.”
Martha Walsh, defending, told Lewes Crown Court, East Sussex, the heater in his car had “packed in”.
Louis, from Brighton, who now coaches non-league Shoreham FC, was banned for 18 months after he admitted dangerous driving.
