ALMOST a fifth of Conservative party members woud consider voting for the Nigel Farage and the UK Independence Party (Ukip), a poll released today revealed.
Over half (53 per cent) of Tory supporters do not believe they are respected by David Cameron and his leadership team, a study from YouGov discovered.
Conservative members were asked to say on a scale of one to 10 whether they would consider voting Ukip, with 19 per cent giving a score of eight or above.
The results for of the survey are distinct as the names of party members are not released, but the polling firm identified 852 individuals from its previous work.
Only 19 per cent backed Mr Cameron to win an overall majority at the next general election.
While almost half (44 per cent) admitted that they spend no time on party activity in an average month.
The study was conducted on behalf of Queen Mary, University of London, Sussex University and the McDougall Trust.
