KEYBOARD PLAYER ROGER LAVERN of The Tornados, who made pop history with Telstar, has died.
LaVern, who was 74, had prostate cancer.

Last year marked the 50th anniversary of the iconic tune, written by eccentric producer Joe Meek. It was, famously, Baroness Thatcher’s favourite record.
