Pupils to put their stamp on Christmas
HUNDREDS of thousands of primary schoolchildren are reaching for their colouring pens to design a Christmas stamp.
By yesterday more than 3,000 schools with almost half a million pupils had registered for the competition. For the ?rst time in 30 years Royal Mail is giving young artists the chance to see their creations on millions of envelopes.
The two winning designs, which must have the Queen’s seal of approval, will appear on 1st and 2nd class stamps in this year’s festive range.
Royal Mail spokesman Stephen Agar said: “We’re delighted at the response to our competition, which has captured the imagination of thousands of children. It really is a money-can’t-buy prize.”
