Policeman jailed for selling information about Prince William and Jack Wilshere
A POLICE officer who spied on Prince William and sold information about the arrest of England footballer Jack Wilshere has been jailed for two years.
Paul Flattley was jailed last week for selling information to The Sun newspaper, including details about student Edward Woollard who threw a fire extinguisher off the roof of Millbank in London during riots in 2010.
Flattley also used police computers to try to discover when Prince William was going to propose Kate Middleton.
His jailing has only come to light as a case against The Sun reporter Viginia Wheeler was dropped today at Southwark Crown Court.
The Crown Prosecution Service said they would no longer be persuing allegations Wheeler paid an officer for information on "medical grounds".
Representatives for the journalist said she denied all the charges.
