UK to end £19m aid to South Africa by 2015
THE UK’s direct aid to South Africa will end in 2015, International Development Secretary Justine Greening will announce today.
The aid programme is worth £19million a year, down from a peak of £40million in 2003. It has focused on cutting mortality rates among women giving birth.
Ms Greening will tell a summit in London: “South Africa is now in a position to fund its development.”
