Ukip leader Nigel Farage wants no tax on minimum wage
UKIP leader Nigel Farage wants those earning minimum wage to be exempt from income tax.
The 49-year-old said by charging no tax on lower earners it would enable them to have more disposal income which can be spent in the high street.
The politician said that would help to boost the country's economy during a debate on BBC show Question Time last night.
Mr Farage said: "There needs to be no tax on minimum wage, that will be money in people's pocket that can be spent on the high street."
The Ukip leader criticsed the Coalition for 'barely denting' the budget deficit and said Chancellor George Osborne needs to make radical decisions.
He added: "We will have a mass simplification of the tax policy, with a lower rate.
"We will abolish National Insurance, roll it into tax because all it is is tax anyway."
