Wheel distraction
WOMEN drivers are much more nervous than men when carrying passengers, a new survey claims.
They dislike “back-seat drivers” and get more anxious at the wheel on trips with husbands, boyfriends and noisy children.
The survey, by insurance firm Admiral, found that 42 per cent of women drivers find passengers distracting compared to 34 per cent of men. However, men have more accidents and near misses because of distractions in the car.
Admiral says drivers are carrying passengers in three out of 10 accidents. Managing director Sue Longthorn said: “It is easy to be sidetracked by the people in your vehicle.”
