Blind orphan fox cub saved by animal lover following attack in wild
FREDDIE the blind fox proved he is a real battler after surviving an attack in the wild.
The six-week-old cub was found under a tree by an animal lover after his family had been killed, believed shot, in Banbury, Oxfordshire. He was taken to Nuneaton and Warwickshire Wildlife Sanctuary where staff nursed him back to health.
Owner Geoff Grewcock said: “Some foxes are born blind but the blindness could have happened because of the shock of seeing the killing of his siblings. He’s doing well now, he’s playing and he’s on solid food.”
Geoff’s two-year-old granddaughter first came up with the name. He explained: “She saw him and the first thing she said was ‘Freddie the fox’.”
