Britons are over worked and under paid
THREE-QUARTERS of Britons put in 10 hours unpaid overtime a week – giving a £142million boost to their employers.
The recession means one in 10 works twice the number of hours he or she should, with the same percentage of men even prepared to miss the birth of a child to clear their workload.
Hotel chain Travelodge quizzed 2,000 people for the survey.
Psychologist Corinne Sweet said: “It is a wake-up call to switch off and escape the stresses of working life.”
