Not-so-cunning fox is trapped by his tail
THIS young fox didn’t show much cunning when he tried to climb over a garden fence. His tail became trapped between the panels.
As the feeling starts to come back he can’t rationalise it like we can – he just wants to bite it.
And he hung there, upside down, for up to four hours until his plight was spotted by a neighbour in Norbury, south London.
By the time animal experts arrived to rescue the confused male, he had lost the tip of the tail.
Now the team at Riverside Animal Centre in Beddington, Surrey, are fighting to save the two-thirds of the tail which is still in place. But they fear that if the fox does not stop biting the stump, he will have to have it amputated.
“Where he was suspended, it has pulled all the nerves,” said centre manager Ted Burden.
