‘She knew she had a place in history’, says grieving Carol
BARONESS Thatcher’s grieving daughter Carol yesterday revealed that her mother had felt confident that she had secured a place in history.
Looking strained as she emerged from her mother’s £6million house in London’s Belgravia Carol, 59, confessed she faced a “tough and tearful week, even for the daughter of the Iron Lady”.
She added: “It’s a deeply sad and rather thought-provoking moment in life.
“My mother once said to me, ‘Carol, I think my place in history is assured’.
“The magnificent tributes, the wonderful words of President Obama, and others who worked alongside her have proved her right.”
