Sir Walter Raleigh ship found?
A WRECK discovered by divers off the Isles of Scilly could be a ship belonging to Sir Walter Raleigh.
A fleet of 30 of his vessels was heading for the West Indies in 1617 when it was scattered by a storm and two ships sank.
Tudor guns and fragments of pottery were found beside the hull in 50ft of water. Diver Todd Stevens said: “The wreck fits in age and style.”
English Heritage has been called in to help identify it.
