Young 'get nicked' for being good
POLICE are swooping on youngsters and handing out on–the–spot tickets – for good behaviour.
Officers in Didsbury and Chorlton, Manchester, give the "positive" notes for using pedestrian crossings, putting litter in bins or riding bikes properly.
If the scheme takes off and a sponsor can be found youngsters may also get more tangible rewards: Cinema tickets or shopping vouchers.
Source: QVC Sergeant Tariq Butt, who thought of the idea, said: "Handing out the tickets allows us to engage with young people in a really positive way."
