Thatcher a despot says organiser of hate parties
AN organiser of vile parties to celebrate Baroness Thatcher’s death defended her actions yesterday – by comparing the late Prime Minister to Hitler.
Romany Blythe, 45, was unrepentant after it emerged she used the internet to encourage thousands to join tasteless demonstrations.
The drama teacher, of Worthing, West Sussex, who works with vulnerable children, said: “They danced in the streets when Hitler died, too.”
She spoke out as David Cameron yesterday led a wave of condemnation of the so-called parties.
Blythe, who claims she is “the voice of reason” added: “People say you shouldn’t speak ill of the dead, but it depends who the dead person is.
“In normal circumstances celebrating someone’s death would be irresponsible. But we are generation X, upset people who left school to find hopelessness. She was a despot.”
At least six police officers were injured as violence erupted when parties boiled over into riots around Britain on Monday. A second teacher was also exposed yesterday as a ringleader.
Craig Parr, 27, a special needs tutor at Labour leader Ed Miliband’s old Haverstock School in Camden, north London, was pictured brandishing a placard saying: “Rejoice, Thatcher is Dead.”
Mr Cameron said: “I think some of the scenes we have seen are frankly pretty distasteful.”
A Labour Party spokesman said: “We condemn any celebration of Margaret Thatcher’s death.”
