£1,000 per second for fuel duty
MOTORISTS are forking out more than £1,000 a second in fuel duty, according to new figures.
The taxman collects more than £94million every day, according to the world’s first road statistics counter.
Roadclock.com runs a running total of road statistics including fuel used, breakdowns and tyre changes.
Information comes from the Environmental Transport Association based on the habits of 800,000 motorists.
ETA director Andrew Davis said: “The road clock counter reveals the astonishing amount of resources consumed and pollution created.”
