Fans of The Iron Lady pay respects at Grantham
WELL-wishers in Lady Thatcher’s birthplace were yesterday queueing up to sign a book of condolence.
Officials opened it in the town museum in Grantham, Lincolnshire, within hours of her death and another was being set up by the local council.
Hundreds of residents and visitors, including Ukip leader Nigel Farage, lined up to express their sadness. Messages poured in from across the world.
A museum spokesman said: “We opened up especially this morning for people to sign the book. We have been bowled over by the response.
“We have also had emails from people across Britain and the world.”
Plans to celebrate her life include the creation of a time capsule.
