How the world reacted to Baroness Margaret Thatcher's death
NEWSPAPER websites from around the world have reacted to the death of Baroness Margaret Thatcher by dedicating their homepage to the former British Prime Minister.
The 87-year-old died 'peacefully' at 11am this morning in Central London after suffering a stroke, and it seems it's not just Britain who is in mourning.
Firstly, American news website CNN dedicated their homepage to Thatcher using the headline: 'Iron Lady 1925 - 2013 Margaret Thatcher: UK's only female PM dies.'
CNN also posted various video tributes for Thatcher as well as galleries, while journalists wrote about "impact made both in the UK and internationally."
Elsewhere across the world, the Sydney Morning Herald made sure that Thatcher was the main story on their website.
The newspaper ensured that they had every single detail in their report, and even listed the highlights of her time in office as Prime Minister of Britain.
"From 1979 to 1990 she led the country through a turbulent decade of change, with her signature uncompromising style encapsulated by her famous phrase “You turn if you want to. The lady’s not for turning," writes Nick Miller for the site.
The Buenos Aires Herald also led a tribute to Thatcher by ensuring the top four stories on their homepage were about the mother-of-two.
They described her as 'Thatcher, a loved and loathed political figure,' while also referring to the Malvinas War.
News of Thatcher's death has obviously swept across Twittter as well as other social networking sites, and no doubt more publications around the world will be addressing the sad news over the next few days.
