12th sex cases arrest
DETECTIVES from Operation Yewtree investigating allegations of sex offences arrested a 12th suspect yesterday.
The 65-year-old man was detained at an address in Somerset in relation to alleged historic offences, Scotland Yard said.
He was later released on police bail without charge until next month, pending further inquiries. Operation Yewtree was set up to investigate Savile when he was unmasked as a predatory paedophile.
A Yard spokesman said the allegations involving the latest suspect were unconnected to Savile.
He said: “We are not prepared to discuss the matter further.”
Operation Yewtree is now investigating the late DJ, offences involving Savile and others and a third strand police call “others”.
