Andrew Mitchell posts Plebgate complaint
FORMER Cabinet minister Andrew Mitchell has made a formal complaint against police over the plebgate affair, it emerged yesterday.
Mr Mitchell was forced to resign after allegedly calling police guarding the gates of Downing Street “plebs” – a claim he strongly denies.
He has written to the Independent Police Complaints Commission accusing officers of a “dishonest and illicit” campaign to “destroy” his career.
