Bus girl tribute cancelled after death threats
A TRIBUTE to a schoolgirl killed on a bus had to be cancelled after sick internet death threats sent to two of her friends.
They started receiving hate messages. After the page was taken down, they had death threats via another social networking site.
The pals, aged 16 and 18, planned a memorial event to Christina Edkins, 16, on Saturday but called it off after abuse on Facebook.
Christina was stabbed to death on a bus in Birmingham this month. A man has been charged with murder.
Daniel Perry, of Sure First Events and Music, said there was no option but to cancel the event. He said: “They started receiving hate messages. After the page was taken down, they had death threats via another social networking site.”
