Now it's Paul Potts...the movie
THE life story of Britain’s Got Talent winner Paul Potts is to be made into a Hollywood blockbuster.
The movie, to be produced by music mogul Simon Cowell, is being made by Paramount Pictures, the company behind box office hits Titanic and Shrek.
The idea came from Los Angeles film producer Michael Menchel, whose daughter showed him clips of the tenor singing on website YouTube last year.
Menchel, head of Relevant Films, approached Cowell and secured the film rights to Paul’s story.
Former mobile phone salesman Potts, 37, of Port Talbot, South Wales became the unlikely star of the ITV talent show, hosted by Cowell, when he sang opera classic Nessun Dorma.
Potts’ debut album, One Chance, has sold three million copies and this year he is headlining 65 concerts in 13 countries.
