Drunken mum’s vile race attack
A DRUNKEN mother abandoned her baby in a pram to launch a savage racist attack on a total stranger, a court has heard.
Pregnant Amanda Lowe, 26, was caught on camera brutally stamping on Khuram Nisar’s head after calling
him a terrorist and shouting an obscene racist phrase at him.
She left her four-month-old baby girl and her eight-year-old daughter in the street to mount the vicious assault in Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester.
Shocking CCTV video footage taken in May also appeared to show Lowe re-enacting her kick as she returns to
chat with friends. Manchester Crown Court heard it was her fourth conviction for assault in six years.
But despite condemning her “disgraceful” behaviour, Judge Lindsey Kushner QC decided she should not go to prison because of the “enormous impact” it would have on her children.
Your record is terrible for violence given that you are 26 years of age
The baby girl’s father, Wesley Earls, 26, and his cousin, Daniel Wray, 21, joined in the attack.
The judge said she was giving Lowe and the other two defendants “one last chance”.
She told Lowe, now expecting her third child: “Your record is terrible for violence given that you are 26 years of
age.
“The damage you are doing to your children – there at the time and seeing you drunk, the risk you put them at – is disgraceful.
“Kids who have mothers who behave like you end up behaving like you. That damage starts from when they are tiny. People have been killed and maimed through being kicked in the head.”
Lowe, from Blackley, Manchester, admitted racially aggravated assault causing actual bodily harm. She was sentenced to 12 months, suspended for two years and ordered to attend a programme for women offenders.
Earls, also from Blackley, admitted assault causing actual bodily harm and was given a 12-month sentence, suspended for two years. Wray, 21, from Salford, admitted the same charge and was given a community order.
