Asda fuels postcode petrol war
DRIVERS face a petrol postcode lottery as supermarkets wage a price war.
It was sparked after Asda cut 3p off a litre of fuel. Yet in rural areas where garages face little competition, motorists may pay 5p a litre more.
The “pot luck” prices face scrutiny by the Office of Fair Trading.
The AA’s oil market analyst Luke Bosdet said: “Drivers who don’t have a cheaper garage will have to pay £2.50 more to fill their tank.”
