Slurry tank survivor out of hospital
A WOMAN who survived a farming accident that killed three members of her family has left hospital.
Emma Spence was treated for fume inhalation after she, her father and two brothers fell into a slurry tank at their farm in Hillsborough, County Down, on Saturday night.
Nevin Spence, 22, an Ulster Rugby club star, died with his brother Graham, 30, a father of two, and father Noel, 52.
Miss Spence, a local artist, left Belfast’s Royal Victoria Hospital as relatives revealed the three men had died trying to save each other.
A book of condolence is being opened at Ulster Rugby club’s Belfast ground. Last night the victims’ families said: “The men were very close to each other and that love was expressed in their final moments.”
The Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland is investigating.
