Opera house has class act
SCHOOL pupils are performing Puccini’s La Boheme at the Royal Opera House in London’s Covent Garden.
They are from the Youth Opera Company, set up by the opera house last September with schools in London and the South-east.
The company has 51 members aged from nine to 12 and rehearses every week.
Speaking after Friday’s debut, Lois Mulvenna, 10, said: “When the curtain went up, it all bubbled up inside of me. It was like a dream, it passed by so fast.”
Paul Reeve, of the opera house, said: “The chorus worked very hard. We are all excited now they are making their debut.”
