BMW recall 30,000 mini coopers
NEARLY 30,000 Mini Coopers are to be recalled after makers BMW found an electrical fault which could cause a fire.
About 235,000 worldwide, built between March 2006 and January 2011, are affected
The fault can cause a water pump to fail, overheat and catch fire.
A total of four cases have been confirmed globally, including one in the UK. The problem has been traced to an extra water pump fitted on the Cooper S and John Cooper Works models.
Customers will get a letter over the next two weeks inviting them to have the pump replaced free by a Mini dealer.
A spokeswoman said the vehicles remained safe to drive and that there was a “very low incidence” of the fault.
