TV chef Simon Rimmer’s terror in knife robbery
TV CHEF Simon Rimmer has told of his terror after two armed robbers walked into his restaurant and screamed at him: “Where’s the money?”
Simon Rimmer, star of the BBC show Something For The Weekend, was marched to the safe while one robber threatened his head chef, Barry Heath, with a knife.
But Rimmer, 48, told the raiders he could not open the safe and the pair fled empty-handed.
Describing the attack at Greens in West Didsbury, Greater Manchester on Monday, a shaken Rimmer said: “It was daylight and they just walked in waving a knife about and screaming, ‘Where’s the money?’
It just seems more and more bare-faced. How do you stop them?”
“They ordered us to lie on the floor and put the knife to Barry’s head.
“They made me take them to the safe but I just told them they wouldn’t get anything. Eventually they ran off.”
Rimmer said it was the fourth raid on Greens in five years. He said: “It just seems more and more bare-faced. How do you stop them?”
