The M60 is seeing traffic queues build as the motorway is closed in both directions near Manchester. The closure is affecting J11 Eccles and J10 Trafford Park. All traffic has been stopped both ways.
The closure is due to a police-led incident. There are reports of congestion and delays and motorists are urged to avoid the area.
Greater Manchester Police are currently in attendance with the other emergency services. The M60 is also closed between J12 Winton to J10 Trafford, National Highways said.

Here are the diversion details still in place anti-clockwise while police are still at the scene.
Exit the M60 anti-clockwise at J12 and keep left to join the M602 eastbound
Exit the M602 at the next junction and take the 3rd exit at the roundabout onto the A576 southbound
Remain on the A576 for approximately 2 miles to the Parkway Circle with the A5081 at Trafford Park
Take the 3rd exit onto the A5081 towards Mossfield/The Trafford Centre
Remain on the A5081 to reach Lostock Circle and rejoin the M60 at J9

Man died at the scene
Greater Manchester Police has confirmed a man died at the scene.
A spokesperson said: "Earlier today, officers responded to a concern for welfare on Barton Bridge on the M60," GMP said in a statement. "The man sadly fell from the bridge and passed away at the scene. The road remains closed while enquiries continue. Please avoid the area and plan alternative routes where possible as disruption is likely to continue for the rest of the day."

Traffic now easing
Traffic is easing on the clockwise side of the M60, the latest updates said. A closure is still in place, however, on the anti-clockwise side of the motorway.

Incident started this morning
In a statement issued earlier, Greater Manchester Police said: "Officers are currently responding to a concern for welfare on Barton Bridge on the M60, reported at around 9:40am today (Tuesday 31 March).
"The M60 remains closed in both directions while emergency services are in attendance. Significant delays are expected and drivers are advised to avoid the area where possible."
Police investigation work ongoing
The M60 is likely to remain closed for several hours due to police investigation work taking place, National Highways said.
'Expect delays'
Expect delays in excess of 25 minutes on top of normal traffic conditions, National Highways said.
Motorway still shut
Both sides of the motorway remains shut due to the police-led incident.
The motorway is closed between J9 and J11 clockwise, and it is shut between J12 and J10 anticlockwise.
Clockwise traffic update
Exit the M60 clockwise at J9 and at the Lostock Circle take the 3rd exit onto the A5081
Continue to the next roundabout, Parkway Circle, with the A576 and take the 1st exit onto the A576 northbound
Continue on the A576 for approximately 2 miles to reach the M602 J2 Gilda Brook Roundabout
Take the 1st exit onto the M602 westbound and continue to the next junction to re-join the M60.

The closure has now been in place for almost three hours, but traffic is in the process of being released, National Highways said in its latest update.

Congestion on the clockwise carriageway is affecting the motorway back to junction 7 for Stretford.
