Prince William helped save 'heart attack victim'
PRINCE William helped save a suspected heart attack victim on his first mission as a qualified RAF search-and-rescue pilot, it emerged yesterday.
William, 28, was scrambled on his first shift after two years’ training. He was co-pilot in a four-man Sea King that landed in “squally” winds on an offshore gas platform in Morecambe Bay to evacuate a contractor to hospital 25 miles off in Blackpool.
The second-in-line to the throne told yesterday of his pride in Saturday’s mission. Details were released as he finished three 24-hour shifts at RAF Valley in Anglesey, North Wales.

Squadron Leader Dave Webster said William had “performed to the standard that is required”. A St James’s Palace spokesman said he was “pleased finally to be able to contribute to the lifesaving work of the Search and Rescue Force”. The contractor was in a “comfortable condition” in Blackpool Victoria Hospital last night.
