Tracey Connelly has returned behind bars once again, only two years after she had been released from prison.

The woman was first jailed in 2009 for causing or allowing the death of Peter, her 17-month-old son, two years prior.

She was released in 2013 - but returned behind bars in 2015 after she sold nude pictures of herself on the internet to twisted fans.

Connelly was freed once again in 2022 from HMP Low Newton in County Durham and made subject to 20 licence conditions, despite an attempt by the then-Justice Secretary Dominic Raab to prevent her release.

Two years later she was recalled for breaching her conditions, the Daily Mail reports.

A HM Prison and Probation Service spokesperson said: "Offenders released on licence are subject to strict conditions and we do not hesitate to recall them to prison if they break the rules."

It is not clear what violation Connelly made to land herself back in jail.

It will now be a matter for the Parole Board to decide if she is ever released again.

The death of Peter, known publicly as Baby P, horrified the nation, after it emerged he suffered more than 50 injuries during an eight-month campaign of cruelty inflicted on him.

Following his death, it emerged there had been 60 missed opportunities to save the boy.

The partner of Connelly at the time, Steven Barker, was also imprisoned in 2009 for a minimum of 12 years for torturing the boy to death, while his brother Jason Owen received a six-year jail sentence for allowing Peter to die.
