There's going out and there's going 'out out'. And then there's going out - and waking up outside of an 11th-century castle.

That's the fate that befell a TikTok user by the handle oiioiitheoldtiktok, after a big night out in Cardiff.

He shared a video of himself, locked out and lost, post-partying - after he woke up at Cardiff Castle.

Bewildered and filmed with the iconic landmark as his backdrop, he exclaimed "what a night", brandishing his hotel key but unable to remember the name - or the location - of his accommodation.

His video showed him admitting, "I don't think this is my f***ing  hotel. I can remember the video I posted. I can't remember what my hotel is called, but I do remember that it's by a bookies."

He also quipped about his need for a snooze, saying: "I definitely need to sleep for an hour or two. My clothes are soaking. I've like passed out on the grass around here."

Flipping between regret and hilarity, he nearly didn't share the video, commenting that he only did because he found it "funny".

Keano, as he later identifies himself, seemed perplexed that his "top dollar" hotel investment turned into an outdoor slumber at the castle, reported Wales Online.

Despite the less than plush accommodations, he couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity and the unexpected picturesque morning view. The video is filled with his laughter as he pans over to the castle repeatedly.

He remarked: "I'm lucky that most of my family passed away when I was younger, because I don't think my parents would be happy with me now. I'm 43, and I was doing s*** like this in my 20s. F***, I love it."

Passers-by gave him odd looks, he noted: "People are looking at me when they're passing, like I'm strange or something. I need to get home. I want to shower, I want to lay on my bed."

Despite the rough state, he expressed an eagerness to continue the revelry, watching rugby and planning to "get on it" hinting at a second round of festivities for Keano. His antics have earned him the title of a "legend" among social media users.

One individual commented: "We've all been there fella." Another chimed in: "You crack me up."

A third shared: "Made my day." A fourth couldn't hold back their amusement, adding: "Cannot stop laughing at the state you're in."
