A man has been arrested after video of a cyclist clutching a large knife and shouting in broad daylight was shared online.
Video said to have been filmed on Sunday, July 21, showed a man wearing what appeared to be a Deliveroo jacket circling on the mountain bike in Bethnal Green, east London.
At one point he made a "come on" gesture with his other hand. People could be seen walking in the area.
Deliveroo confirmed he was not working for the company.
A Met Police spokesperson said on Wednesday: "A man has been arrested after police received calls about a person on a bicycle brandishing a knife in Bethnal Green.
"Police received calls from concerned members of the public, as well as being tagged into videos posted on social media, after a man was seen in the area of Middleton Green Park, at around 7pm on Sunday, July 21.
"Officers rushed to the scene but the person had gone. There were no reports of any injuries.
"After studying the footage and speaking to witnesses, a 25-year-old man was identified and arrested on Tuesday, July 23 on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and being concerned in the supply of drugs. He remains in custody."
