A beautiful beach in the UK that has been named one of the best in the country offers stunning views of the rugged coastline and the English Channel. Lantic Bay is a secluded beach on the south coast of Cornwall.

One needs to complete a bit of a hike but the effort is well worth it for the serenity awaiting you.

Lantic Bay features a crescent-shaped, sandy beach with clear blue waters, perhaps more similar to the Caribbean than your typical English beach. It is known for its natural beauty and tranquility.

The bay is accessible via the South West Coast Path, which provides breathtaking views and a chance to explore the area's natural landscape.

The hike to the bay involves a steep descent, making it more suitable for those prepared for a bit of exertion.

Due to its relatively challenging access, Lantic Bay tends to be less crowded than other beaches, offering a more peaceful experience.

The clear waters make it a great spot for swimming, although visitors should be cautious of strong currents.

The beach is an ideal location for a quiet picnic amidst beautiful surroundings.

The area around Lantic Bay is rich in wildlife, including various seabirds and marine life.

To reach Lantic Bay, visitors can park at the National Trust car park at Frogmore, near Polruan, and then walk down to the bay. The path can be steep and slippery, so appropriate footwear is recommended.

There are no facilities at Lantic Bay itself, so visitors should bring everything they need for their visit. The nearest amenities are in Polruan or Fowey.

As part of the Polperro Heritage Coast, Lantic Bay is a protected area, and visitors are encouraged to respect the natural environment and take any litter with them.

The beach has been called “paradise in Britain” by travellers who have shared their experiences on the TripAdvisor travel forum.

One user said: “Absolutely amazing beach, well worth a visit. There is a good walk to get there from the car park, which involves a steep descent to the beach. My advice is don't wear sliders like we did wear trainers, as difficult walk back.”

A second user said: “Beautiful bay with a lovely swim. Steep slope down, but we’ll worth the effort. The water was beautiful.”

A third user commented: “As everyone else mentions the walk down isn't easy but that is the very reason this place is so special, probably the best beach I've visited in the UK and the weather played its part stunning for October.”
