Trespasser camps out on school's roof for four days with pupils forced to stay at home
A four-day stand-off with police is ongoing, where the individual remains on top of a comprehensive school's roof.
Officers have swarmed a school for four days in a bid to coax a trespasser down who has been camped out on the roof. The man has been in situ at Sacred Heart High School in Hammersmith, London, since Monday evening - with the school shut down to staff and pupils.
Police now say that they are attempting to talk the man down. A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at about 21:20hrs on Monday, 17 June to reports of a man on the roof of a school building on Hammersmith Road, W6.
“Officers remain in attendance and continue to engage with the man with the aim of bringing the situation to a safe conclusion.”
Sacred Heart High School is an 11-18 Catholic comprehensive girls’ school with more than 1,100 pupils enrolled.
Sacred Heart High School has updated parents and pupils online. It said that the “school remains closed today to all staff and students” other than those who are sitting A-Level exams.
It added: “More information to follow.”
