Astounding footage has revealed the shocking “dungeon hotel” where Euro 2024 fans were allegedly put up while in Germany.

A group of men who travelled to watch the first England game last night against Serbia in Gelsenkirchen have revealed their astonishing accommodation for the night.

Thankfully it was a win for their team as they were left absolutely appalled with the digs - which included hospital beds, an axe and had “vibes of a human trafficking horror film,” the fans claimed.

Fuming footy fan Rory took to social media platform X to share shocking images and footage of their accommodation that he claimed was booked via the website Booking.com.

The “shambles” unfolded after being relocated from the first property as the bed was made from cardboard and held together by duct tape. But their next accommodation - made by the accommodation website after three hours of calls - was even more nightmarish.

Rory said: “Once we arrived, we were STUNNED by what we found.

“@bookingcom had sent us to a dungeon that must have been some sort of abandoned medical facility as there was hospital beds and industrial equipment lying around the entrance.”

He added: “We made our way into the property and we're greeted by more industrial equipment, exposed chemicals, exposed cables and exposed pipes and to top it all off an axe that looked like something out of a murder film.

“The whole place had the vibes of a human trafficking horror film.”

The group claims they spent another two hours on the phone with the company before the group - who’d already allegedly shelled out £2,000 for accommodation - could pay for a new hotel and invoice them.

Rory added: “Hopefully this absolutely wild story and videos/pictures make it clear to them how crazy a situation they put us in.”

Booking.com told Express.co.uk that the company is in touch with the group to rectify the situation.

A spokesperson for the company said: "This is not the experience we would want for anyone booking a stay on our platform and are in touch with the customer, so we can look into what happened and to make sure they are properly supported."

Shocked X users have reacted to the situation by commenting on the post which has now been seen more than 1.7m times.

One said: “What an experience, you won‘t forget that.”

“This sounds horrendous lads…” said another X user with another saying it was “absolutely appalling treatment”.

Thousands of Brits will watch matches in person this year, with both England and Scotland qualifying.

The 23 qualifying teams will be playing in 10 cities across Germany, making it incredibly difficult for tourists to attend every match.
