An expert has identified the National Lottery numbers ‘most overdue’ to come up next.

Matching six numbers can win you millions of pounds tax-free for just a £2 outlay, so it’s no surprise that so many people take a punt to try to change their life forever.

Based on the latest statistics, Lottomart conducted an analysis and found the top six most overdue lottery numbers:

Number 23: Last seen 151 days ago on Saturday, January 6, 2024. This number tops the list of overdue numbers, having been absent for nearly five months.

Number 36: This number was last drawn 102 days ago on Saturday, February 24, 2024. It hasn't made an appearance in over three months.

Number 55: With its last appearance 88 days ago on Saturday, March 9, 2024, number 55 is another one to watch out for.

Number 27: This number has been missing for 70 days, last drawn on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. It shares its overdue status with another number.

Number 42: Also last seen on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, this number hasn't been drawn in the same 70 days.

Number 37: The most recent of the overdue numbers, it was last drawn 67 days ago on Saturday, March 30, 2024.

Lottomart also looked into the numbers that have been coming up the most in the lottery. They identified 52, 37, 39, 58, 8, and 27 as the most common numbers. Notably, 52 is the most frequent, having appeared 111 times, with the last occurrence being 20 days ago.

Of course, there is absolutely no guarantee that these numbers are more or less likely to come up again. Each draw is totally independent so cannot affect the outcome of numbers in the next.

For example, the chance of flipping a coin and getting heads is 50 percent, but you have a 25 percent chance of flipping two heads in a row. But once you flipped one heads, you have a 50 percent of getting heads next time because the last outcome has no impact on the next.

Still, if you’re looking for inspiration for your next pick, these are some options - just make sure you have enough in the account to pay for the ticket.

Lottomart added: “Although these numbers have not been seen for some time, there is no guarantee they will be next as each draw is independent from each other. If you are to take part in the lottery, remember to gamble responsibly.”
