Liverpool crash: Horror as car smashes into primary school leaving huge hole in wall
The school in Everton has been evacuated with emergency services rushing to the scene this morning.
A primary school was evacuated after a car crashed through the wall of the building. The horror smash happened earlier this morning at Beacon Church of England Primary School on Heyworth Street, Everton.
Emergency services have rushed to the scene and taped off the road, with a number of ambulances stationed inside the cordon.
Two people were taken to hospital with "minor injuries", meanwhile emergency services confirmed that no children were in the area at the time of the crash.
A picture shows the dramatic scene with a huge hole left in the side of the school building, with the car coming to a stop inside the classroom.
The driver of the car was being assessed by emergency services personnel, with the police confirming a passenger had sustained injuries.

North West Ambulance Service has confirmed two people were treated for "minor injuries" at the scene and they have both been taken to hospital.
Merseyside Police confirmed earlier today no children were in the area at the time of the crash.
School 'shocked but relieved' no one was inside the classroom
A spokesperson for The Beacon School said: "We are shocked at today’s incident but relieved that no children were in the classroom at the time."
They went on to thank staff for the "calm and professional manner" in which they dealt with what happened and to pupils, parents and carers for responding well and enabling the school to evacuate the area safely.
The spokesperson added: "We are also very grateful for the prompt response of the emergency services."
They said the building will be "properly assessed" as a priority and hope to be able to open most of the site on Tuesday (April 23), but this would be confirmed later.
Extent of the damage shown in latest pictures
The latest photos from the scene help to show the extent of the damage caused, with bricks, debris and school equipment spread across what appears to be a classroom at the primary.
The Liverpool Echo has reported that it understands the room was used for nursery aged children.
School and vehicle made 'safe', Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service says
Fire service personnel have made the scene and vehicle safe, according to Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service.
A search and rescue team put up a temporary shoring to the affected area.
Utilities to the school have been isolated and a structural engineer called in.
No one was trapped in smash, Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service says
Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service has said no one was trapped in the smash and the two people inside the car are in the care of North West Ambulance Service.
Beacon School carries out roll call
The Beacon Church of England Primary School has carried out a full roll call with all staff and pupils accounted for, according to Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service.
A spokesperson for the service said: "A full roll call at the school was completed with all persons accounted for."
School closed, road closures in place
Merseyside Police has said the school will be closed for the rest of the day and road closures are in place.
The force has urged people to avoid the area.

Passenger injured, driver being assessed, no children in area, police say
Merseyside Police has said no children were near the immediate vicinity of the crash.
The force has said the female driver of the car is being assessed at the scene and a passenger in the vehicle sustained a minor injury.
It added: "No other injuries were reported and no children were present in the area of the collision. The building will be assessed for any structural damage."
