The UK's rudest cities have been revealed by a new study, with the top one being a popular city in the North.
A new study has found the UK’s rudest cities, and four of them are in the north.
Manchester has been revealed as the rudest city in the UK by a new study from Preply, a language learning platform.
The team analysed thousands of reviews on Tripadvisor that contained keywords relating to politeness, as well as the city’s safety index and cleanliness score.
The northern city scored a very low 3.6/30 in the study. It got a politeness score of 1.5/10 and a safety score of 0.6/10.
London came in second with an overall score of 6.6/30. It got a politeness score of zero out of ten and a safety score of one out of ten.
And the third rudest city in the UK was Sunderland, according to Preply. It got an overall score of 8.6/30, with a 7/10 for politeness and 0.6/10 for safety.
Also in the top ten was Peterborough, Newport, Glasgow and Nottingham. The top ten’s scores only got as high as 12.2/30.
The most polite city in the UK was found to be Cambridge with a score of 26/30. It was followed by Newcastle, which got 19.9/30, and Sheffield, with 18.2/30.
