M23 traffic: Serious multi-vehicle crash near Gatwick Airport causes travel chaos
A serious car crash caused long delays on the M23 near Gatwick Airport in Surrey this morning with all four lanes of the busy motorway blocked
A serious crash involving multiple vehicles has caused long delays on the M23 near Gatwick Airport this morning.
All four lanes were blocked on the southbound carriageway between Junction 8 (for the M25) and Junction 29.
The closure was reduced down to two lanes with traffic queueing in the area as a result, with all lanes reopened by 9.45am.
Three cars are believed to be involved in the crash.
Inrix, the traffic data company, said: "Traffic easing and all lanes open, accident cleared on M23 Southbound between J8 M25 and J9 (Gatwick Airport). Lanes one and two (of four) were closed."

The crash was first reported at around 7.30am.
We currently have no information on whether anyone has been injured as a result of this incident.
