Margaret Thatcher returns to No 10
MARGARET Thatcher returned to No10 yesterday and Tory PM David Cameron said: “It’s good to have her back.”
He was welcoming the former premier to a private Downing Street reception in her honour.
Wearing a powder-blue dress and coat Lady Thatcher, 84, waved to waiting press.
Baroness Thatcher led Britain between 1979 and 1990.
She is one of the first guests hosted at No10 since the coalition entered office last month. She had previously visited her successors Tony Blair and Gordon Brown.
Yesterday she met three staff there when she was PM, including doorman Michael York and custodian Ray Penny. A guard put a vase of roses in her old office – as was done for her 30 years ago.
