Lidl makes changes to its loyalty points scheme and shoppers are not happy
Lidl, the budget supermarket, has made some changes to its shopper loyalty scheme, which has upset and divided its regular customers.

The supermarket chain Lidl has made some big changes to its loyalty scheme, which sees shoppers collecting points to get free items.
But the changes to its Coupon Plus scheme have not gone down well with everyone.
Under the new scheme, customers who spend a minimum of £50 a month will receive a coupon for a free in-store bakery item.
Shoppers who spend of £250 in a month will be rewarded with a coupon entitling them to a 10 percent discount on their next shopping trip.
However, the shake-up has irritated some loyal customers who have not welcomed the switch.
Effective from this month, the rewards associated with a monthly qualifying spend of £100 and £150 will also see changes.
Customers who spend £100 will receive a coupon redeemable for any item from the Gelatelli ice cream range.
Similarly, those who spend £150 spend will get a coupon to use on any product in the Alesto snack range.
All rewards earned will be added to the coupon section of Lidl's mobile app.
The shake-up to Lidl's loyalty scheme stirred up a range of reactions from the supermarket's shoppers.
Rushing to the We love Lidl UK Facebook group, customers were divided.
One customer said: "I love when they change it up, I got the free snack one 30 bags of crisps £3.99 for free.
"Great reward also had a free bakery item. Feel guilty just going in just to get them."

Another added: "I've got kids, it’s summer, I’ll take that Free box of ice creams cheers."
A third wrote: "At a time of rampant price rises I want money off not ice creams.
"Why not 1 percent off on 1st tier spend & 5 percent on 2nd tier then 10 percent at £200?"
