Cruel mum shows no remorse eight years after her tot starved to death at home
Margaret Wade, 41, was jailed after her two-year-old Lauren Wade starved to death, and had told police she had 'no guilt' over her daughter's death.
A cruel mum who was jailed after her toddler starved to death has been seen for the first time since her release. Margaret Wade, 41, appeared to show no remorse as she told a reporter to "f* off" when asked if she regretted the death of her two-year-old Lauren Wade after eight years.
The toddler was found covered in lice and fleas in a flat in Sighthill, Glasgow, on March 20, 2015. Lauren was clinging on to life when she was rushed to hospital but died shortly after being admitted.
Wade and partner Marie Sweeney, 40, had been accused of killing her, but admitted the reduced charge of neglect and got six years and four months behind bars.
Wade was released on parole in 2022 and is said to be staying at a tower block in Blairdardie, Glasgow.
According to reports, she had previously told police that she had "no guilt" over the tot's death.
And it appears this has not changed, after The Sun sent a reporter to track her down eight years to the day that Lauren died.
She reportedly shouted "f* off" as the man approached her while she was walking to a waiting taxi.
When asked if she would ever show remorse or apologise for her actions, she again shouted "f*** off" through the taxi window as it drove off.

According to the newspaper, Wade and Sweeney reportedly blew the funeral money for Lauren on "booze" - meaning the tot was left without a headstone.
A visitor to Lambhill Cemetery in Glasgow said: “I’ve never seen anyone at that grave in all the years I’ve been coming.
“It’s like she’s been forgotten — it’s almost an unmarked grave.”
In 2019, Glasgow’s High Court heard “skinny and dirty” Lauren had gone without proper food or care in the filthy home for months.

Following a 999 call when she was found “unresponsive”, paramedics raced her to hospital but she died within minutes due to complications from malnutrition.
Judge Lady Stacey told the pair: “You’d been offered advice, it was not taken.
"You failed in your duties to this child.”
Wade snubbed a fatal accident inquiry into Lauren’s death which concluded she could have been saved if seen by a GP while the mum was at her own appointment six weeks before the death.
