Elvis sues the Beatles
THE OWNER of an Elvis memorabilia shop yesterday lost his bid to get a court to evict a man running a Beatles museum in his basement.
Sid Shaw, 61, who runs Elvisly Yours on London’s Baker Street, wanted Howard Cohen out so he could throw a party on the 30th anniversary of Presley’s death on Thursday.
But Mr Cohen, 47, owner of the London Beatles Store, refuses to budge, insisting he has a rental agreement until the end of the year. The judge at Central London County Court rejected Mr Shaw’s appeal. The dispute will go to a full trial in October.
