M3 traffic nightmare: Six-mile queues causing mayhem after crash - updates
SIX MILES QUEUES have been reported on the M3 causing traffic mayhem following a crash on the motorway.
The incident has closed three lanes of four and happened between Junction 2 and Junction 3.
The National Highways Agency has Tweeted: "Three lanes (of four) are closed on the M3 eastbound between J3 and J2, near #Chertsey M25, due to a collision.
"Emergency services are in attendance.
"Delays of 34 minutes above normal, with almost six miles of congestion on the approach."
Junction 2 is located near Thorpe Park, and Junction 3 near Lightwater.
According to Motorway Cameras, normal traffic conditions are expected between 7:45 pm and 8:00pm.
An update following the initial incident reported by the agency read: "The vehicles involved in the collision on the #M3 J3-J2 eastbound have been cleared to an emergency area and all 4 lanes are now open and flowing.
"Delays should begin to ease now."
