Leeds fire: 10 engines scramble as thick smoke rises above Hunslet - 'avoid' area
TEN fire engines have rushed to tackle a huge blaze in Leeds.

Emergency crews and specialist units have been called this evening to a major fire on Pepper Road, Hunslet. Pictures from the scene have been shared by worried residents on social media.
One image shows thick black smoke billowing into the sky.
Another aerial photograph shows a mushroom-shaped cloud of thick smoke forming over the city.
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue warned the incident is “creating a lot of smoke in the area”.
The fire brigade urged people to stay away and advised residents to keep all windows and doors shut.
The fire is believed to have started at a scrap metal yard, according to reports.
A police cordon has been put in place on Pepper Road.
At this stage there are no reports of any injuries.
Several worried resident shared their concerns on Twitter and one user said they could see the smoke from as far away as Bradford.
One user wrote: “What's happening in Hunslet?”
A second added: “Hmm... anyone know what the fire is?
"Looks to be around Hunslet Road.”
A third said: “Can see this Hunslet fire on Pepper Road from Thornton, Bradford!”
A fourth added: “Huge fire in Hunslet right now. Brigade been working on it for about half an hour.”

In a statement, West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: “Ten fire engines and specialist units are in attendance at a fire in Pepper Road, Hunslet.
“It is creating a lot of smoke in the area.
“Local residents are advised to keep doors and windows closed.
“Please avoid travelling through the area."
