Robert Peston sends 'serious' warning following Boris Johnson coronavirus positive test
ROBERT PESTON sent a stern warning to the nation as he discussed Boris Johnson's latest video announcement in which the Prime Minister confirmed he tested positive to coronavirus.

The ITV political editor warned the nation news coming from the Prime Minister today that he tested positive to coronavirus, and from Prince Charles, earlier this week, that he also fell victim to the deadly disease, should awaken people's consciousness and open people's eyes to the crisis. Mr Peston said: “I would hope that the message of self-isolation from Prince Charles and now the Prime Minister that any of us can get this.
“It is really serious when vulnerable people get infected and we’ve all got to do the right thing and isolate ourselves.
“Whether we’ve got the illness or not, we must not engage in close contact with people we don’t live with.”
Announcing the latest update in a video on his Twitter account, Boris Johnson said he has “mild symptoms” of the coronavirus and said he will continue to work from home.
He said: “Hi folks I want to bring you up to speed with something that is happening today, which is I developed mile symptoms of the coronavirus.
“That’s to say a temperature and a persistent cough and on the advice of the Chief Medical Officer, I have taken a test that has come out positive.

“So I’m working from home, I’m self-isolating and that’s entirely the right thing to do.
“But be in no doubt that I can continue thanks to modern technology to communicate with all my top team to lead the national fightback against coronavirus."
Health Secretary Matt Hancock also announced shortly after the Prime Minister's update, that he himself has contracted coronavirus.Mr Hancock said in a video message that he would be self-isolating until next Thursday.
"Fortunately for me the symptoms so far have been very mild so I've been able to carry on with the work driving forward the UK response.

He also said a "massive thank you to everybody in the NHS, working in social care and right across the board on the response".
"I'll be continuing to do everything I can to get our carers the support that they need. And I'll be doing that from here but with no less gusto."
"And then from next Thursday, once I'm out of self-isolation and I hope with no more symptoms, then I'll be able to get back stuck in and into the office where necessary.
"But the truth is that all of us can learn that working from home can be really, really effective."

So far, 578 people in the United Kingdom have died after testing positive for coronavirus and the number of confirmed cases has risen to 11,658.
The death toll is the seventh highest in the world, after Italy, Spain, China, Iran, France and the United States, according to a Reuters tally.
Prince Charles, the 71-year-old heir to the British throne, tested positive for coronavirus earlier this week.
He is in good health and is now self-isolating at his residence in Scotland with mild symptoms along with his wife Camilla, who tested negative, his office said.
