Birmingham shooting: Man gunned down in horror drive-by attack as UK crime crisis erupts
A MAN has been killed in Birmingham after being shot in a suburb of the city.
The 20-year-old man was killed on Thursday evening in Goosemoore Lane, Erdington. Following the horrific attack, West Midlands Police have launched a murder investigation. A statement from the police said: "A 20-year-old man was shot dead and his family have been informed.
"No arrests have been made at this stage and enquiries are on-going to identify those responsible.
"Reassurance patrols have been stepped up in the area to support and reassure the community.
"Goosemoore Lane remains closed whilst investigations are underway."
As of yet, no arrests have been made.

Thursday evening's attack comes as a police officer was stabbed in London.
Following a routine traffic stop in Leyton, east London, the officers was brutally attacked.
The attack took place in Leyton High Road just after midnight police confirmed.
Muhammed Rodwan, 56, was charged with attempted murder and possesions of an offensive weapon.

The defendant will appear at Thames Magistrates Court today.
The officer, whose name remains undisclosed was taken to hospital and underwent surgery yesterday morning.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the attack “underscores for me the bravery of our police, people who actually go towards danger to keep us safer”.
He added: "Also what it shows to me is the vital importance of investing in policing.
"That’s why we’re putting another 20,000 officers out on the street, and giving officers the legal powers and support that they need to tackle knife crime and other violent crime."
