Blackheath murder: Missing woman in her 50s discovered in south London garages
POLICE investigating the disappearance of a woman in her 50s have found her body in south London garages, sparking a murder inquiry.
The victim had been described by the Metropolitan Police as “missing” before she was recovered in Blackheath at around 5pm on Friday. Officers have now launched a murder investigation after the discovery. According to The Sun, the woman has yet to be identified.
She was believed to have been missing since May 15.
The garages she was found in are close to Blackheath station.
Reports claim that a post-mortem examination was held in Greenwich mortuary on Sunday.

However, her death is being treated as suspicious.
Assistant Detective Chief Inspector David Blair said: “Although cause of death has not been determined, the woman who was sadly found deceased has injuries suggestive of third party involvement.
"The identity of the victim has not been formally established but we are liaising with the family of a woman in her 50s from south London who was reported as a missing person.
"At this stage we are working hard to establish the circumstances of the woman’s death, which is being investigated as a murder.
