Leicester fire: Two dead after 'explosion' and deadly blaze at house
TWO people died in a horrific house fire in Kirby Muxloe, a village west of Leicester, police said.

Emergency services rushed to a house on Church Road in the small village of Kirby Muxlow in the early hours of Friday after receiving reports of a fire. Two people fell victim of the blaze, police said, adding they launched an investigation looking into what the cause of the blaze. A Leicestershire Police spokesman said: "We were called at 3.30am this morning by the fire service reporting their attendance at a house fire on Church Road in Kirby Muxloe.
"Officers and the ambulance service attended the scene.
"A woman and a man were pronounced dead at the scene."
The officer added the pair haven't been identified yet.
He added: "Formal identification of the deceased has not yet taken place.
"A cordon is in place and an investigation into the circumstances of the deaths is continuing."
People said to have heard an "explosion" and seen flames devouring the house.
A neighbour said: “My brother got up about 4am and heard an explosion.
“My mum woke up at just after 4am and saw the house going up in flames.”
Another neighbour told Leicestershire Live: “I could smell smoke and went downstairs to check.
“I spoke to a neighbour outside and there was an incredible amount of smoke coming from the house on fire.”
Fire investigation dogs were spotted working at the scene alongside officers, firefighters and gas engineers from gas supplier Cadent.
